Andi Seger joined Alden & Associates, Inc. in 2005. As a long-time
athletics administrator in NCAA Division I, Andi brings a wealth
of experience to the firm. She serves as search counsel within
Alden & Associates’ executive search practice, in addition to her
focus on consulting, feasibility studies, Title IX reviews,
compliance reviews, and strategic planning.
In 1975, Andi began what would become a 27-year career at Ball
State University, as an Assistant Professor and Assistant
Athletics Trainer. In 1983, Andi was named Ball State’s Director
of Intercollegiate Athletics for women under the school’s split
department system. In 1995, after a 12-year tenure heading the
women’s athletics program, the University combined its men’s and
women’s programs and selected Andi as the first-ever director of
intercollegiate athletics for its newly combined program.
Not only was the hiring a first for Ball State University, but the
institution became one of the most unique universities in the
country when it selected a woman as its director of
intercollegiate athletics. The announcement of Andi’s appointment
in 1995 made her one of only four women in the country to oversee
a combined men’s and women’s NCAA Division I-A intercollegiate
athletics program. She was named one of Street & Smith’s Super
50 Women Sports Executives in 1998.
She served for eight years on the NCAA Committee on Athletic
Certification and four years on the NCAA Division I Management
Council. Her knowledge of intercollegiate athletics is
far-reaching and a core asset to Alden & Associates.
Andi holds a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New
York at Cortland and a Master’s degree from Indiana State
University.
