Tim O’Brien,
partner with Libby
O’Brien Kingsley LLP, has over 20 years of experience
representing management on a broad range of labor and employment
issues throughout the northeast, and has counseled and advised all
levels of management on employment issues. Within the sports
arena, O’Brien has advised colleges and universities throughout
the country on legal issues confronting athletic departments
including: Title IX compliance and gender equity, compensation of
coaches, review and design of coaching contracts, drug testing
programs, discrimination law issues, policy review and
development, training of coaches, staff and student-athletes, NCAA
compliance issues, internal investigations, and certification. He
has participated in and moderated programs for the American Bar
Association, the NCAA, athletic conferences and educational
institutions on sports law topics which have included: Title IX,
disability discrimination, returning injured athletes to
competition, coaches’ compensation, pay equity, risk management,
and employment issues involving athletic departments.
O’Brien has been a contributing or co-author within a range of
publications on employment and sports law. He was listed in
The Best Lawyers in America® under Sports Law; and recognized
in the 2006 and 2007 Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers
for Business under Labor & Employment.
O’Brien received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of
Notre Dame and his J.D. from the New England School of Law. |
