Dave O'Brien plays a key role in both intercollegiate athletics and higher education search assignments for Alden & Associates.  He is also a central part of other client-based consulting services for the firm.  From its inception, Dave has been a close advisor for Alden & Associates having served as a member of the Board of Advisors for many years.  He currently serves as Auxiliary Associate Professor and Sport Management Program Director at Drexel University.  Prior to that, Dave was Director of Athletics at Northeastern University, Director of Athletics at Temple University, and Director of Athletics at Long Beach State University.

Dave brings his distinguished career in higher education to Alden & Associates, Inc.  Prior to his service as an athletics director, Dave served as Assistant Vice President for Administration & Finance at Long Beach State University where his work centered on the areas of legal and legislative relations, budget, and human resources.  Prior to this, Dave was Assistant to the President at Montclair State University where he served within two presidential administrations, overseeing legal and legislative matters.  Earlier in his career, Dave was part of the legal and legislative staff of the New Jersey Senate, working primarily on issues related to higher education.

A native of Montclair, NJ, Dave began his career as a high school teacher and athletic coach in northern New Jersey.  Dave holds a certification in the field of sports administration from the Sports Management Institute.  He received his Bachelor's degree from Moravian College, and his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University.
