Mr. Philip Goldstein
Associate

Phil Goldstein’s area of expertise is fiscal and operational
integrity in intercollegiate athletics, having served as a staff
member at five (5) NCAA Division I athletics programs over his
29-year career. His specialties are budget management, long term
financial planning and internal controls. His work has
eliminated deficits, kept the budgets balanced and rectified
audit issues at every institution at which he has worked.
Most recently Phil served as Special Assistant to the
President for intercollegiate athletics at the University of
Northern Colorado, which employed him to advise senior
administration on financial issues related to their transition
to Division I, to hire and train a business manager, to
implement a new budget management system, and to assist in the
preparation of a multi-year plan.
Phil began his athletics career at Bowling Green State
University in 1983, where he advanced to Senior Associate
Athletics Director and supervised Marketing, Tickets,
Concessions, Sports Information and Equipment, along with the
Business Office. He left BGSU in 1994 for four years at Eastern
Michigan University followed by nine years at Colorado State
University, both as Associate Athletics Director for Business,
while also adding the supervision of Facilities & Events,
Athletic Training, Strength & Conditioning, Legal, Personnel and
numerous sports to his experience.
Phil is a graduate of West Virginia University, with
Bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Business Administration and
a Master’s degree in Sport Management. He served as a Graduate
Assistant in the WVU Athletic Business Office for two years,
while also working as a volunteer coach with Women’s Track &
Field. |
