Peter Fields brings a unique combination of skills to Alden & Associates with his extensive professional background in the financial and business operations of intercollegiate athletics. He provides analysis regarding institutional finances related to intercollegiate athletics, and is primarily involved in the firm’s feasibility study work. As a former President of the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA), Peter was also named CABMA’s Manager of the Year in 2004.

Peter also serves as the Director of Athletics at Montana State University (MSU).  With tenure of just over three years at MSU, he has presided over one of the most successful periods in the athletic program’s history.  The Big Sky Conference recognized Peter’s standing among his peers in 2006, appointing him to represent the league on the NCAA Management Council. He also serves on several league committees.

Peter joined MSU after six years at the University of Missouri, including the last four as Associate Director of Athletics.  He directed Missouri’s athletic business operations from 1996 to 2002, with oversight of the department’s $28.7 million budget.  He also has served as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Finance at the University of Toledo and previously was at Kent State University in a similar capacity.

He is a graduate of the University of Maine, Presque Isle, where he was a varsity wrestler, and he received his Master’s degree from The United States Sports Academy in 1987.
