Risk Management Assessments

Lately, we have all too often read or heard about the unfortunate injury to a young student-athlete or spectator that could have been avoided. With today’s litigation craze it is almost certain that a lawsuit will be brought whenever an injury occurs. For safety and liability protection, it makes good sense to conduct a Risk Management Assessment of your athletics program. Often major injuries and financial exposure can be eliminated by easily and inexpensively correcting departmental practices.

Our Risk Management Assessment, which is conducted by veteran university athletics director and attorney Dave O’Brien, examines your athletics program in comprehensive detail. We examine your policies, procedures and practices with an eye toward detecting liability exposure. We inspect your facilities and equipment practices to ensure safe operations. We also examine contracts, personnel documentation and process, and legal forms currently being used.

Most importantly, our Risk Management Assessment evaluates your program’s overall safety and liability precautions and makes recommendations for improvement.
