Feasibility Studies
The advent of consulting services
for intercollegiate athletics enables colleges and universities to
hire experienced consultants to assist them in exploring issues
and answering questions that will direct the future of their
intercollegiate athletics programs. Towards this end, a
feasibility study is an opportunity for an institution to explore
the “big questions” surrounding a potential change to an
intercollegiate athletics program.
Alden &
Associates, Inc. has conducted feasibility studies for numerous
colleges and universities. Some of the areas listed below serve as
examples of our feasibility studies:
-
Transition among NCAA divisional membership.
-
Initiation and sponsorship of varsity football.
-
Conference affiliation—both as an independent or current conference
member.
-
Issues related to sports sponsorship.
We
provide a comprehensive approach to our work—from reading and
analyzing shared data and information, to visiting the campus and
interviewing various constituencies. We then prepare a thorough
report with recommendations which aids in the implementation
process. We take great pride in our work and have witnessed many
positive changes as a result of our recommendations.
